Experience the culture of the Iban dance through the traditional Ngajat Iban dance.

Ngajat Iban was originally passed down from the Iban tribe to welcome warriors back from battle. It is now performed to receive important guests at longhouses, and to honor the most important harvest festival, Gawai.

In joining our class, you will learn how to greet highly regarded visitors the way Borneo people traditionally would, through an uplifting, fun dance.

Ngajat Iban Dance Class

We'll start with an introduction to Ngajat Iban and how it now differs from the initial purpose it was created for. In the lesson, you can learn how to move to the sprints and jumps making up the Ngajat Iban.

Outfit Recommendations

Wear light and comfortable clothing such as exercise or stretchable clothes. Please note jeans and skirts are not permitted.

Hire a GRAB/ or Waze to ASK Dance Company. We are just above a convenience store, KK Mart Ampang Hilir. You can also take the Star LRT line to Ampang station and take a taxi/GRAB to our studio! Walking distance from LRT Ampang to ADC: 15-20 minutes)
