My hometown is in Mangalore, the chief port city that lies between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghat mountain ranges. It is located about 350 km west of the state capital, Bangalore.

Mangalore was ruled by several major powers, including the Portuguese, so we are blessed with a diverse culinary tradition consisting of closely guarded recipes, handed down for generations.
