Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is celebrated by Malaysian Chinese across Malaysia. Traditionally, they would return to their hometown on the day before the celebrations for a reunion dinner with family. Throughout the festive season, new clothes would be worn for good luck, while red packets containing money would be given to children and unmarried individuals by those who are older and married.

This is also a good time to join an Open House to enjoy the festivity, or visit local temples that are decorated with hundreds of lanterns!
