1. Puchong Yong Tau Fu

Located opposite of a Chinese school called SJK Han Ming, Puchong Yong Tau Fu is always crowded with customers. With a wide range of dumplings, tofu pok and vegetables to choose from, you can have them deep-fried or boiled in soup! They are cooked upon order so your food is guaranteed to be fresh.

The yong tau fu can also be taken with rice, curry mee, chee cheong fun or the local’s favourite pan mee. Either way, they taste delicious! Each piece of yong tau fu is RM1.20.

2. Depot by JWC

Depot by JWC is a vibrant, retro chic cafe tucked in an industrial area. They serve a fusion of Asian and Western food, but they are most famous for their coffee. For a dose specialty coffee, go for the Moroccon Rose Latte. The profile is light and sweet, with just the right amount of espresso and milk.

3. Yap Chuan Bak Kut Teh

For 14 years, Yap Chuan Bak Kut Teh has been selling their homemade Bak Kut Teh. It is now operated by the third generation of their family, who took it upon themselves to improve the taste of the recipe.

Their best selling dish is their dry bak kut teh, which comes with pork belly, trotters, Chinese herbs and caramelised in dark soy sauce. Absolutely gorgeous when taken with rice!

4. Foo Hing Dim Sum

In the heart of Bandar Puteri lies Foo Hing Dim Sum – chaotic, crowded, and filled with a large variety of delicious dim sum. The queue may last for an hour but the food is totally worth it!

Their Macau-style Portuguese Egg Tart is the best in town, with each crispy crust holding sweet and silky soft egg custard. The egg tarts cost RM2.50 per piece, and RM15 a dozen. Their dim sum – from Siew Mai to Har Gao, Pork Balls, Chee Cheong FUn and Loh Mai Gai – are loved by locals too.

5. Banh Mi Café

Bahn Mi Cafe is a Vietnamese restaurant located near a housing area at Bandar Puteri. Their pho is arguably pho-nomenal, but what’s special is their baguette, which can’t be found anywhere else!

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the baguettes are baked fresh every day. They are then stuffed with juicy pork morsels, Vietnamese sauce, vegetables, and chilli. The sandwich is sure to make your mouth water!

6. Ruk Mookata

Get ready to feast like a king in this Thai Buffet restaurant! Ruk Mookata uses charcoal steamboat BBQ Pits to cook your food both ways. Grill or boil your selection of meat and vegetables, then pair them with a variety of sauces. Thai milk tea is free flow in the restaurant, and don’t forget to indulge in ice cream to end your meal. The time limit is 2 hours so go eat as much and as fast as you can.

Bumbu Bali is a chic Balinese restaurant where you can enjoy cuisines inspired by the region’s signature flavours. Their aromatic Nasi Campur comes with a mixture of prawns, squid, and fish, along with a choice of beef or chicken rendang, and satay. Don’t forget to pair it with one of their mocktails.

Before you go, order the pisang bakar, a grilled and caramelized banana snack served with vanilla ice cream and peanut toppings.

Ground Eatery Cafe is sure to take your breath away with their nature-inspired interior. One of their bestsellers, Matcha Soldier is a combination of matcha and espresso. Their Eggettes also stand out in the crowd, especially their Jack The Baba HK Eggettes which mixes gula melaka, and jackfruit and Hong Kong’s eggettes together.

Their signature Dino Eggs is also a must try, featuring eggs that are cooked perfectly, seasoned with Asian spices and wrapped in minced meat. It brings the Yum in the Tum!

At Minato Yakitori, you can watch your meal being prepared right in front of your eyes. Skewers are very popular here, but so are their set meals that come in large portions but priced at a very reasonable level.

Mancave Cafe and Collectibles is sure to excite comic enthusiasts with their range of comic-related merchandise. Their food is also aptly named after pop culture references, such as the mutant pizza and their infinity stone inspired beverages.

Enjoy your food while being surrounded by your favourite characters from comic books and movies, like the Avengers, Star Wars and the Justice League. Want something different, Try their Nasi Lemak Pizza, a thin crusted pizza with eggs, cucumber, anchovies, peanuts and sambal.

11. Yuan Le Dim Sum

Yuan Le Dim Sum has been around for more than 10 years now, with recipes passed down by their former sifu. Their most famous dish is the Si Chuan dumpling with self made sauce that can only be found in this dim sum shop.

Another popular dish is their Prawn Spring Roll Chee Cheong Fun, which has the juiciness of the prawn paired with the contrasting soft and crispy textures of different layers. The chilli makes it extra tasty!

12. Crab B Restaurant

With 12 dishes to choose from, crab lovers will have the time of their lives. The best seller at Crab B Restaurant is the steamed egg crab, which has a sprinkle of Chinese wine and shredded ginger to keep the natural sweetness of the crabs.

Their other house specialty is their Milky Salted Egg Crabs. This is great if you love it rich and creamy, as it is cooked with fresh milk, salted egg yolk and curry leaves. Dip fried mantou in the sauce for another level of satisfaction.

13. XLL Mala Hotpot

At XLL Mala Hotpot, you get to choose your own ingredients, noodle type, and level of spiciness before bringing it to the kitchen to be chopped and stir-fried them with Sichuan Peppercorn, sauce, and other ingredients. Feel free to get creative by topping up your meal with cheese on top. Trust us, it gets better with every bite taken!

If you’re into spiciness, with love that kick from chilli and mala, this is the place to go. You can also choose to have your noodles stir-fried with salted egg.

 14. Bow Wow Cafe

This cafe isn’t all about food and coffee – it also allows you to bring your furry friends along to enjoy a meal and spend quality time together. Bow Wow Cafe also offers full course meals from snacks and appetizer all the way to desserts. Their Homemade Meatballs served with Garlic bread and Sofrito sauce is definitely recommended. The sauce makes the meatballs really tasty!

 15. Souffle Dessert Cafe

If you have a sweet tooth, then this is the place to be! Souffle Dessert Cafe serves all kinds of wobbly, soft and fluffy souffle pancakes with lipsmacking toppings. The Caramel Banana Souffle Pancake is definitely a must-try!

It can get packed and crowded, plus the souffle needs 20 minutes of preparation before it is served, but it sure is worth the wait!

16. Lok Lok Street 

It’s a food haven on this street! Food trucks come together to sell their food at an open air parking lot in Bandar Puchong Jaya. There is a wide range of Lok Lok skewers to chose from, cooked by boiling it in clear soup, peanut sauce or tom yum.

The seating here is a little tricky as you have to order the food from the stall that your table is located before ordering other food. The Char Kuey teow here is also very well known as it has enough “wok hei” (wok flavour). Don’t forget to try the local favorite Mat Toh Yau (or ‘Everything Also Got’ in Cantonese), a refreshing with toppings like longan, jelly, lotus seed, and tapioca pearls.

17. Mykori Dessert Cafe

It’s no secret why Malaysians love icy desserts, given how hot the weather can get. To beat the heat, have some shaved ice at Mykori Dessert Cafe while chilling with your friends!

Their Melon Kakigori is one of the locals’s favorites. It is made from melon, melon milk, nata de coco, and almond! That sounds like one healthy dessert to me. If you feel like having something a little richer, try their Triple Chocoreo Toast. It’s basically toast,with Oreos and two scoops of ice cream. It may sound simple but it’s super delicious!

8 Road Restaurant is always packed with customers because of its reasonable pricing, fast service and of course, delicious food! Of all their Taiwan Style San Bei Chicken really stands out, which is cooked with soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine and thai red chilli. You’ll want to come back for more. To avoid queues we suggest reserving before going.

19. Seng Kee Fish Head King 

Seng Kee Fish Head King is the go-to place to have lunch or dinner with the family. Their best seller is their fish head curry, which draws crowds for how fresh and tasty it is. So if you’re ever around town, be sure to drop by this restaurant!

20. Liang Khee Tomyam Noodle House

With its strong Tomyam soup, this noodles house will leave you craving for more. Ingredients can be chosen from the front to make your very own customised bowl of noodles. They open from till 3:30 AM in the morning, so if you’re craving something spicy and savoury in the middle of the night, don’t you worry cause they’ve got you covered.

21. Restaurant Soon Lok

Restoran Soon Lok has been selling duck rice for 14 years. The owner, Mr. Lee first started roasting duck himself and created his magical sauce to make the duck extra flavorful. You can’t find it anywhere else!

Besides duck rice, they also offer an assortment of meat, vegetables, tau fu, and omelette can be chosen from. This shop has two outlets currently, one in Puchong Jaya, and one in Bandar Puteri.

22. Akashi BBQ

The smoky BBQ smell can be detected from far when you are at Jalan Layang-Layang 1. You can bet it’s from Akashi BBQ! Their popular dish is Genghiskhan, a lamb dish served on a dome shaped skillet, which is then cooked with flames from charcoal, or on a gas stove. Only for RM20, you get a large portion of marinated meat. The soup at the side of the skillet is used to cook vegetables, giving the soup its taste! 

You can also choose pork ramen or fried ramen which only costs RM10 and has flavourful char siew and egg! The fried ramen is slightly sweet as it is drizzled with mayo, and it is sprinkled with pork lard to add a crunch.

23. Mama Kim Sauna Mee

If you’re a health conscious person, dropping by Mama Kim Sauna Mee is a must! The noodles are served in a hot clay pot, and the steaming soup is poured into it just as your food is served. The soup is also free flow, and very tasty. Order the fruit tea to go with your meal. Very healthy, tasty and sweet! If you feel like it, there’s a spa and facial right next to it.

24. The Food Court

The Food Court is where you can go for meals at any time of the day! This shop is the most crowded at night to cater for night owls (you know who you are).

Tea and coffee is sold at RM 1 from 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM on weekdays, as well as their famous black sugar pearl tea. At RM 4.80, it’s probably the cheapest black sugar pearl tea you’ll find in Puchong (or RM2.80 on weekday mornings).

25. Aksrha Curry House

Near an Indian temple at Pusat Bandar Puchong is a restaurant famous for Banana Leaf Rice. Chicken Masala is the star of the show, and they also serve vegetarian dishes that are equally delicious! If you come on Sundays then you’re in luck cause that’s when they serve their Biryani. Their Rawa thosai is also popular – crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and best served with the chutney!

26. Kok Siong Nasi Kandar

Kok Siong Nasi Kandar has been serving their popular mixed rice for 19 years! Both his dad and him started cooking together, creating lots of flavorful dishes like curry fish head, curry sotong, fried chicken, stir fried vegetables and more. Many people say that it tastes exactly like the famous Nasi Kandar in Penang!

The moment you set foot there, you’ll definitely see them frying the chicken in a huge wok. Usually, workers from nearby offices will take away their meal to enjoy it back at their desk.

27. Ticket to Korea

Located in Setiawalk Mall, Ticket to Korea does see a huge crowd just before lunch or dinner time. It is most famous for ribs with cheese… and I mean a lot of cheese that is melted with a blowtorch right in front of you. Don’t forget to post it on your Instagram. The restaurant has good service, don’t be surprised to be warmly greeted by the owners!

28. Restaurant Hasbuna

Restaurant Hasbuna is located near a housing area and SMK PBP 1, so nearby residents and students love dropping by this place to “yumcha” (hang out). People love their nasi kandar, especially when it is served with the chicken curry. There may be many dishes to choose from but they do sell out fast!

If you’re feeling like having something light, try their roti with chicken curry. And to top it all off, order the Teh Tarik that has a perfect mix of milk and tea.

Restoran Foong Lei gets Puchong peeps gathering for breakfast with their buddies before heading off to work.
