Sungai Pelek may seem small compared to other towns in Malaysia, but it sure is packed with surprises! The town is sandwiched next to Tanjung Sepat and Sepang, both of which already see their fair share of travellers.
The quiet charm of Sungai Pelek is perfect for a relaxing road trip, with plenty of restaurants you probably won’t easily find online. You’ll want to save this list for your foodie exploration!
1. Restoran K Muniandy

Ask any local in Sungai Pelek and they would know about Restoran K Muniandy. They would point out the Mee Rojak (RM5), made with traditional handmade noodles, kuih rojak, tofu, cucumber, egg and a generous serving of sauce. The outcome? A symphony of textures with a nice savoury crunch from the kuih rojak. Their kuih rojak is a special pastry made from flour, bean sprouts, onions and curry leaves.

Another delicious dish on the menu is Mee Goreng (RM5), stir-fried over a roaring flame and loaded with kuih rojak and vegetables. It has an extra kick from the chilli, with a hearty and rich aroma.
The restaurant also serves plenty of different Rotis, all prepared fresh and on the spot. Locals often come here for their morning dose of Indian cuisine. Order Teh Halia, Coffee or a local drink to complete your meal.

There is more than meets the eye at this humble stall in Ter Huat Lai Coffee Shop, which has certainly earned a delectable reputation despite being open for only two years. Nasi lemak is the main dish served here, plated with cucumbers, anchovies, egg, peanuts and a sweet sambal sauce.

What impressed us was the Indonesia-style rendang. Tender and soft, the chicken meat complements the spiciness of the fragrant sauce. We could have easily ordered another plate.
