Your accompanying experts Jason & Ling were born and bred in Penang and have worked on Penang Food Conservation Project with the then Ministry of Tourism Malaysia (MOTOUR) to inventories the locally unique hawker street food and ethnic dishes. Interesting Food History and Evolutions story telling of the dishes that you will be sampling throughout the tour. You are highly encouraged to ask questions throughout the tour and please keep an open mind to try out new things during the culinary trail.
You may have some Asian Food experiences and you wish to dig deeper and you’ve chose the right trail. We are expert of Old Charm Penang Flavours, you WILL NOT eat at tourist hot spot eateries which are usually have long queues and hectic eating conditions. The small group will gather and meet the experts at predetermined point in George Town. You will be brought around George Town’s core heritage zone for a taste of Old Penang.
What to expect: 5 Stops, 8 Delicacies onwards (9:00AM TO 12:30PM)
-The morning starts with the local traditional breakfast in around George Town. From the locally Hainanese Kopi, Charcoal Double- Boiled Kaya and perfectly cooked Soft Boiled Eggs On Toast. - You shall walk through one of the oldest wet markets in Penang and learn the local cooking ingredients & local products. - Culminating lunch with a choice of flavourful Nasi Kandar, the Aromatic Mee Goreng Sotong Or the Vibrant Penang Peranakan Baba Nyonya Cuisine.
