Discover Lao cuisine by learning to cook several traditional dishes. After your hands-on lesson, you will have prepared at least 5 local dishes to have for lunch amidst the forested beauty of Luang Prabang.
Tucked in the mountains of Luang Prabang, Nahm Dong Park spans across 14 hectares of breathtaking valleys, a waterfall and lush landscapes. dotted with picnic spots and ethnic huts.
Our local expert will take you through the organic garden and introduce you to several different plants and how they are used in traditional Lao cooking. Some of these ingredients will be picked straight from the garden for your cooking class. At the end of the class, you will learn minimum 5 dishes depending on the season. A booklet with all recipes will be provided.

Visit the gardens in the park
Your local expert with give a detailed explanation about the plants and their usages. You can pick the vegetables and herbs they will use for cooking, depending on what is in season.
Begin the cooking class
Your personal cooking lesson can take place within different areas of the park depending on the season and weather. The recipes of at least 5 traditional Lao dishes will be shared, depending on the season. We aim to promote self-sustainable and organic farming, so some ingredients can be unavailable at certain times of the year.
Time to taste piping-hot Lao dishes that will leave your tummy satisfied.
Transfer back to the hotel.*
After lunch, you can go home or stay in the park to enjoy the other activities and facilities. The transfer back to town can be made at 5pm upon request.
