Sungai Duri, a small Malay village, is strategically located at the Sungai Jawi area of Penang. A sanctuary of fresh fruits and local delicacies, Sungai Duri is a place to visit during fruit seasons to enjoy durians, rambutans and mangoesteen. Other non-seasonal fruits are grown all year round in Sungai Duri such as papayas and pineapples. What's more is that, there are do-it-yourself workshops in making local delicacies such as dodol (sticky snack of caramelized sugar) and keropok (chips). Other handicrafts include mats and baskets. 37 homes in Sungai Duri are engaged in the homestay programme for you to experience the wonders and cultures of the northern region. So come on and join Sungai Duri for their deliciously fresh tropical fruits and traditional delicacies.
