Kuangsi Waterfall & Bear Sanctuary

Our friendly van driver will pick you up and take you directly to Kuangsi Waterfall. This scenic drive goes through villages, and rice fields. Entering this park you will encounter the Bear Sanctuary, where many Asian bears live, rescued from bile farms, traps and cages. Learn about the species and their plight in Laos. Further on are the pools and trail that leads to the magical falls.

Butterfly Garden

Further down the road there is the Butterfly Garden. In the cool season these creatures come alive later in the morning. This small, creatively designed garden, is home to many butterfly species.

Cruise to Pak Ou Caves

Back to town around midday, you will board the boat and head upstream, approx. 2 hours to Pak Ou Caves. This holy site is significant to the Buddhist population of Laos, and across the cavern there are many curious Buddha statues left by devotees. You will have a picnic lunch on the boat. If there is time to spare on our way back, you can stop at the Paper Village, known for its mulberry paper and handicrafts. There are some noteworthy weaving studios here too. After this, we will head back to town and your hotel.
