Cycle, trek and cruise along the majestic Mekong river for an adventure of a lifetime, as you experience everyday local culture and rural scenery in this 3D2N trip. You will also be welcomed into the home of a local Hmong to spend the night.
This 3D2N trail is catered for adventure seekers who want a thrilling and intimate look into rural Laos. Cycle across sweeping paddy fields that humbly dance to the wind, lush forests, clear streams and ethnic villages. Along the way, you will stop to sample the famous 'Kaolam', have traditional lunch in a Khmu village, and watch how riverweed is harvested.
You will also trek through the forest to a Hmong village where you can stay with a local family. On your last day, you will enjoy a boat ride back to Luang Prabang, taking home memories of an unforgettable cultural experience.

Luang Prabang > Ban Na Kham > Ban Houay Tan > Ban Chan Neu > Ban Pak Loung
Meet at 8am to collect your bike. Cycle downhill to the dock and cross the river to Ban Xieng Man village. After a short visit, head to Ban Na Kham village, well known for its locally grown sugarcane, and ‘Kaolam’ - sticky rice cooked with coconut milk in bamboo. Sample this to boost your energy, then cycle to Ban Houay Tan, an ethnic Khmu village where traditional lunch will be prepared. After lunch, cycle to Ban Chan Neu, a pottery village that still peruses old-world techniques to perfect the craft. Dropping by Hoy Kue waterfall, have a swim before we wind down in the village close by, Ban Pak Loung. Approximately: 5 hours cycling
Ban Pak Loung > Ban Na > Ban Som Sisomphou > Ban Phou Luang Tai
Have breakfast at the homestay, then off we go again along the stretches of paddy fields to Ban Na. Have a short break before cycling to Ban Somsisomphou village for lunch. Trek through the forest and streams for about 3 hours to a Hmong village called Ban Phou Luang Tai. This is where your family will welcome you into their humble home, where you can experience an experience of a lifetime as you appreciate their unique culture. Ban Phou Luang Tai > Ban Houay Pong > Ban Muang Kham > Luang Prabang
Start the day with breakfast and a hike through the forest to yet another Khmu village called Ban Houay Pong. A traditional local lunch will be served. Continue to Muang Kham village, known for harvesting riverweed. Watch how locals dry them out, season and fry them to become that beloved savoury snack you see so often in Luang Prabang cuisines. Before ending the day, we will take a 20-minute boat ride back to Luang Prabang, where our estimated time of arrival is 5.30pm. Approximately: 5 hours trekking & 20 minute boat trip
