The Nam Ha Experience can be one of rapids and white water in the rainy season but for most of the year the verdant forested banks, colorful water birds and the occasional troop of monkeys are the main attractions. You will be paddling exciting but manageable 2 to 3 grade rapids.
Luang Namtha > Ban Namha > Ban Nam Goy/Ban Nalan TaiOn the first day we paddle down the river which meanders through the thick forests of the Nam Ha National protected area. At mid-day we stop at the riverside for a picnic lunch and refreshing swim. After lunch we continue onwards until arriving in Ban Namha village in the afternoon. We take some time to look around the village and visit speak to the friendly locals before continuing onwards to either Ban Nam Goy or Ban Nalan Tai which alternates between trips in order to share the benefits between the two villages. In the evening we enjoy a delicious Lao dinner cooked over an open fire by the villagers.

As we carry on downstream some beautiful views of the forest are revealed before we arrive at a section of exciting rapids! Upon arriving where the Nam Ha river meets the Nam Tha we branch off and paddle down the Nam Tha river for a while until arriving at the Khmu village of Ban Sop Sim. We will take sometimes discover the village before return to Luang Namtha.
