Along the way you will visit That Xieng Dueng a Tai Leu stupa and several ethnic villages including Tai Leu (Ahka) and Io Mien (Hmong). Our guide will work with you to design a trip tailored to your group. It is possible to pedal to the Chinese or Burmese border if you wish. In Muang Sing we visit the busy morning market, learn about the fascinating history of Muang Sing and visit the former French fort.
Luang Namtha - Kiew Lom Pass Muang Sing (on road 59 Km)The tour begins our office in Luang Namtha and after a short briefing we begin peddling along the road to Muang Sing. At lunch time we meet our support vehicle which carries all our luggage, food and water. After lunch we continue on peddling over the mountains and in to the Nam Ha Protected area onwards to Muang Sing. The slope up Kiew Lom Pass is long and gradual however once you reach the top it is a swift and thrilling descent to Muang Sing. Upon arriving in town we check into our guest house and freshen up before taking a light stroll and enjoying a traditional Tai Leu dinner at the Tai Leu Restaurant.
Muong Sing Chinese border - Muang Sing (on and off road 35 Km)We wake up early and visit the local market, we take some time to look around before returning to our guesthouse for breakfast. After breakfast we begin peddling at 8:30am and head back towards Luang Namtha. We cycle uphill for 6km to Stupa Mountain which is Muang Sing's most sacred place, we spend some time here before heading onwards to Ban Sop I Mai, an Akha village. Here we leave the road and hit the dirt as we cross the hills towards the Chinese border. Along the way we pass through Ban Boong Kawp, an Akha village and Ban Phoudonthan, an Iu Mien village. Near the Chinese border we stop at a restaurant to enjoy lunch and take a break.
