Starting and ending at Thakhek, this two days experience provides an amazing discovery on the edge of Phou Hinboun, encountering some of the most beautiful limestone landscapes and through one of the longest cave of the country-the cave of Konglor.
Thakhek > Ban Konglor > Ban NatanWe depart from the Green Discovery office in Thakhek at 7am. The drive to the Konglor cave will take us about 3,5 hours. Upon arrival we will meet our local guide and after some welcome chat, we will start our trek. The trail passes dense jungle and open areas typical for a limestone landscape. We need around six hours to conquer the mountain but will be rewarded by beautiful views. When reaching the valley on the other side we continue walking for 2km to Ban Natan, where we stay overnight at a villager's home.
Ban Natan > Ban Konglor > ThakhekAfter breakfast we shall participate in a traditional Baci ceremony hold by owner of the house. After the ceremony we shall take 15 minutes tractor ride to the kayaking starting point at the nearby river bank. Our guide will give you some basic but important instructions about kayaking in a cave before we start. We begin paddling accompanied by a long tail boat for the luggage downstream and back through the cave to the blue lagoon. Upon arrival at the end of the cave if you wish you can enjoy a refreshing swim! After we will have delicious lunch in local restaurat, before we head back to Thakhek.
