This daily tour is meant to discover the beauties of the surroundings of Thakhek at a relaxing peace and enjoying the carstic scenary along the road N12. Visite the famous Buddha Cave and Tam Xiengleb cave and enjoy swimming.

We start the trip by visiting the large stone wall along the Mekong and furthur to visit famous Buddha Cave, which has been rediscovered only in April 2004. The cave contains 229 bronze Buddhas that are said to be over 300 years old. Then we return to the main road and continue for a few kilometers until Tam Xiengleb cave, that we reach after walking for about 20 minutes. We visit another cave before we stop for a delicious lunch at local restaurant. It is in fact a river with a large pond where the French army used to set up camp in the 1950s. We take time for swimming before heading back to Thakhek. On the way, we stop to the Sikhotthabong Stupa. He was a King from the Khmer period famous for having built at great expense a large stone wall along the Mekong to protect his territory against Siamese invasions. We finish our trip by walking around Thakhek to see the most notable French colonial houses. Approximately: 2 hours tranfer, 4 hours sightseeing
