Discover the beauty of the iconic Malay folk dance, Inang, in an enjoyable session.

Inang is a time-honored Malay dance originating from the Malacca Sultanate era. Performed at social gatherings, the dance is very graceful and contains all the attributes of a court performance. Because the dance is laced with rigid Chinese music, it is also known as Tarian Si Kembang China.

In this workshop, you will have a chance to learn how to excel in moving as modestly and gracefully as the royal entertainers.

Inang Dance Lesson

We'll start with the imperatives of Inang and how it went from strictly a court dance to a folk dance, enjoyed and performed by all individuals. In the same lesson, you can learn how to practice various steps to replicate the graceful movements found in Inang.

At the end of the workshop, you can take selfies wearing the traditional dance costume.
