Let's explore the magnificent Batu Caves, see the newly rejuvenated stairs and gain insight into the rich Hindu culture, with a local.
Batu Caves is a limestone hill with a network of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu (Stone River), which flows past the hill. Dedicated to Lord Murugan, it is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside of India, and is most colourful during Thaipusam. Recently, its iconic stairway has been rejuvenated with vibrant colours!
On 3 November, we will have Indian cuisine for breakfast before heading to Batu Caves by train. While visiting two temples, we will witness the Puja ritual while listening to stories about the Hindu pilgrims and culture. There will be local snacks to nibble on afterwards, and a gift to bring home afterwards.
