Learn how pepper is grown and harvested by hand, in a pepper plantation hidden by the limestone karsts of Ipoh.
In Malaysia, pepper is usually found in Sarawak. In recent years, pepper farmers have started planting them in Peninsular Malaysia. One such pepper plantation is in Ipoh, hidden by the beautiful limestone karsts in the town outskirts. Ricky is the owner of an organic pepper plantation in Ipoh, and occasionally hosts workshops to train pepper farmers.
Visiting this pepper plantation gives you a glimpse of how the farmers care for their plants, and harvest them when the time is right. You will also see how the fruits are harvested, sorted and naturally processed into white or black pepper. Lunch at the plantation will be provided.
