In this experience, we’ll be walking through Kampung Baru (translated to English as 'New Village') to visit several stalls and street vendors along the way.
The tour will take you to 5 different spots, each displaying its own unique flavour. You’ll be able to sample savoury food such as “Nasi Kerabu” (blue rice with mixed herbs), “Rendang” (slow cooked meat with spices, and no, it’s not crispy) as well as sweet snacks such as “Apam Balik” (Malay turnover pancake) and Kuih Cek Mek (fried sweet potato with sugar).
In addition, we will also drop by the farmer’s market nearby where you’ll get to sample some of the locals herbs and fruits.
It will be a 3-hour gastronomical journey, so I do hope you come to the tour hungry!
Our gastronomical journey begins!
In Malaysia, we love the term 'jalan-jalan cari makan', which means 'we walk to find food', and on this tour, we'll be doing just that!
Follow me as I take you around to savour only the best authentic Malay street food you can find, all while basking in the evening atmosphere of a bustling Kampung Baru. I'll show you the best way to chow down on savoury meals, and balance it with sweet snacks to refresh your palette.
We'll also venture through the farmer's market where I'll give you a few samples of the spices and herbs that gives Malay food its irresistible taste!
The end of our food adventure
With our tummies full and our hearts satisfied, we bid each other goodbye.
