Is there reception at The Sticks?
There is only phone/data reception for Celcom users. So do plan ahead by downloading your music and shows to your portable devices before you arrive! However, if you are unable to survive without reception, we suggest you get a Celcom prepaid card for your trip here.
Is there electricity at The Sticks?
Yes, but we are entirely off-grid which changes a few things we take for granted in the city and explains why we are unable to provide certain facilities. We ask our guests to use electricity sparingly (preferably no use of hair dryers or other heavy energy consumption gadgets) as we are running from a combination of generator and solar power. Charging phones and portable devices are not a problem though.
How does the damage deposit work?
Damage deposit of RM50 per person is due with payment for your reservation. Refund of the damage deposit (after deduction for damages, if any) will be made upon check out. Charges incurred for damages identified are at management's discretion and include, but are not limited to, loss of tyre tubes, damage to equipment and tools provided, unusual soiling or damage beyond reasonable wear and tear of soft furnishing and bedding in rooms.
What is The Sticks’ booking and cancellation policy?
Full payment is required to confirm reservations. For avoidance of doubt, full payment is required prior to check in.

Are there snacks and drinks available at The Sticks?
Drinking water is freely available during your visit. Mineral water and other drinks are available for purchase. Do bring your own snacks but remember we are in a jungle and there are animals around, therefore no food should be consumed in the tendoks as that will attract their unwanted attention! We would strongly advise that food is only consumed within the Dewan area.
Are you able to cater to special dietary requirements for my meals?
Yes, we will try our best to accommodate your request. If you are vegetarian, allergic to certain foods or prefer not to have certain foods as part of your meals, do let us know at the time of your booking so we can prepare in advance.
Are meals Halal?
Meats are sourced from halal vendors and there is no alcohol used in the preparation of food. The entire retreat is pork free.

If you’re driving from KL, just key in ‘The Sticks’ into any navigation app and you’ll be able to find your way here.If you’re travelling from out of the country, the best way would be to fly in to KLIA and catch an Uber or Grab car from there (cheaper than any transfer we can arrange for you). For the return trip to KLIA, we can help to book a ride with a trusted driver. Without traffic, the car journey to or from the airport takes less than 2 hours.Alternatively, if you're up for some adventure (and a cheaper transit from the airport), you can catch the KLIA express from the airport to KL Sentral. From there, get on a commuter KTM train to the Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB) KTM station. You'll be able to find the train schedule for this particular route on Google Maps. Once you arrive at the KKB KTM station, you can get a taxi up to The Sticks which usually costs about RM35 and will take about 30 minutes.
