If any cave temple is worth visiting in Ipoh, it is the Perak Cave Temple. Founded in 1926, it is one of the city's oldest cave temples in Ipoh. Within it is a 40-foot golden Buddha statue, graced with four guardian deities by its side.
Take a look at this virtual tour and you’ll be even impressed by the cave murals surrounding you. There are murals illustrating characters and scenes from Chinese legends and beautiful Chinese calligraphy, some of which were painted by Chong Yin Chat, son of the cave's main founders. Just behind the altar, a flight of stairs trails up towards the side of the hill, where pavillions grant you majestic views of the city.
