Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque is the first floating mosque in Malaysia. Completed in 1994, it was opened by the former Sultan of Terengganu and named after his mother, Tengku Intan Zaharah. Donning Moorish and modern architectural styles, its most distinguished feature is the 125 feet tall minaret, which overlooks the magnificent South China Sea. Spanning 5 acres of land, the pristine mosque is graced by beautiful pavilions, arches and a main prayer hall which can accommodate around 2,000 worshippers. It also incorporates the use of marble, ceramics, bomanite paving and mosaic works.
