Thakhek > Ban Elan> Ban Dang > Thakhek

The trip begins at 8:30am as we meet you at your hotel and head off towards Ban Elan village, for around 1.5 hours. The village serves as the starting point for the kayaking. After a short safety briefing and some familiarisation of the kayaks, it is time to set off and head down the river. As we continue paddling onwards, we pass through some amazing natural scenery before arriving at a section of the river which is home to many sandbanks. We stop to enjoy a picnic lunch either on the river bank or on a river island, dependant on the river level.

As we continue on after lunch through the beautiful landscape, the river meanders through towering limestone cliffs which offers a truly stunning spectacle! As we carry onwards, we become surrounded by dense forest and towering mountain peaks including the Pha Nongkagnoy and Pha Pakgnom. Along the journey, we will see local fishermen going about their everyday tasks and be greeted by the friendly local children as they swim in the river.

The kayaking ends at the small village of Ban Kengsavang. Here our transport awaits for the return back to Thakhek which takes around 45 minutes along an unpaved road.
