India is a subcontinent of nationalities, which celebrates people from different backgrounds, religions and cuisines. My hometown is in Mangalore, the chief port city that lies between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghat mountain ranges. It is located about 350 km west of the state capital, Bangalore.
Mangalore was ruled by several major powers, including the Portuguese, so we are blessed with a diverse culinary tradition consisting of closely guarded recipes, handed down for generations.
In this hands-on cooking class, you will also learn to put a healthier twist to your dishes, so you can feel awesome every day! You can choose from one of the five menus. See menu details below.
Menu 1: Kori Rotti (main rice dish, vegetable, salad, dessert, pappadams and traditional drink)
Menu 2: Pundi (chicken/ pork/ kidney beans curry, salad, dessert, pappadams and traditional drink)
Menu 3: Rava Idli with Fish Vindaloo (curry, vegetable, salad, dessert, pappadams and traditional drink)
Menu 4: Vegetarian Food Trail (masala rice, chickpea curry, two salads, dessert, pappadams and traditional drink)
Menu 5: Desserts To Die For (choose 5: Ma’s Coconut Barf, Panchakajaya, Thandai, Ellu Bella, Lassi, Rose Petal Jam, Gadbad, Royal Pudding, Ajamma’s Fruit Salad - grandmother's recipe)
