Learn to make traditional Lao rice noodle from scratch, with fresh ingredients straight from the farm!
Khao Poun is a traditional rice noodle, made from fermented rice, and garnished with different vegetables in a light broth. Like all noodle dishes in Southeast Asia, it can be a main dish to be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or anytime of the day. It can usually be found in small stalls on the side road, prepared by local villagers.
In this half-day experience, Lee will teach you how this beloved local dish is handmade from scratch, using ingredients from his organic farm in Ban Thinsom, about 20 minutes outside Luang Prabang. He will explain about Lao farming life, while teaching you how rice is fermented and turned into vermicelli, as well as how to assemble a bowl of Khao Poun. After making it, you can enjoy a delicious meal with your newfound friends.
