Two days worth of trekking along the trail that passes through rice paddy field, forests, mountains and waterfalls. Pass by several villages belonging to the Hmong and the Khmu groups, spend a night learning all there is to know about their culture and way of life. On the second day, you may choose your trail depending if you feel like having relaxing time, or if you're in for a challenge.
No matter which trail you choose, this trip is sure to make you trek till' you drop!
Luang Prabang > Ban Huay Lo > Ban Pha Phuang > Ban Mok Chong
Starts at 8.30am Ends at 5.00pm - Transfer to the starting point of the trekking trail at Khmu-village of Ban Huay Lo - Trek through rice paddy fields, waterfalls and forests - Visit and enjoy local traditional lunch at Hmong village of Pha Phuang - Trek up the mountain to visit the Hmong and Khmu villages at the peak - Learn about Hmong-culture and spend the night at the Hmong village of Ban Mok Chong Approximately: 1 hour transfer & 6 hours trekking
Option 1 (normal) : Ban Mok Chong > Ban Nasavang > Huay Vang > Luang Prabang
Starts at 8.30am Ends at 5.00pm - Trek the densely forested mountain at the west of Nam Ou valley - Walk pass the beautiful bamboo forest and limestone landscape - Enjoy local Khmu lunch at Khmu village of Ban Nasavang - Continue trekking until we arrive at the magnificent waterfalls for a break and a relaxing time - Trek on until the village of Ban Hauy - Transfer back to Luang Prabang Approximately: 5 hours trekking & 1 hour transfer
Option 2 (difficult) : Ban Mok Chong > Ban Nasavang > Ban Mok Muang > Ban Houy Louang > Luang Prabang
Starts at 8.30am Ends at 5.00pm - Trek up the mountain for around 40 minutes until we can see the panoramic view of the region - After a break, trek into the deep jungle - Enjoy a local lunch at the Hmong village of Ban Mok Muang - Resume trekking in the deep jungle until we arrive at the rice paddy field and a beautiful river view - Trek along the trail until the Khmu village of Ban Houy Louang - you may be able to swim there in the dry season - Transfer back to Luang Prabang Approximately: 6 hours trekking & 1 hour transfer
