You probably didn’t know that you don’t need a proper drum to be a percussionist. In this session, be amazed by how your household items can be repurposed into percussion instruments. Soon, you’ll be able to form your very own percussion band at the comfort of your home.

In this session you will be guided by experienced drummers from Orang Orang Drum Theatre, who combines the art of drumming with theatrical elements such as acting and dancing, creating a new art genre called drum theatre. Get into the rhythm, let your imagination soar, and join a percussion jam session using everyday items!

Itinerary

Learn to turn household items into percussion instrument

This 1.5 hours session consists of several games and drumming activities that will make you feel like a pro!

Start off with some fun and interactive warm-up games, followed by a brief introduction on the origins of recycled percussion, how it came about and why it is still sustaining. From this session, you will also learn how to turn almost anything at home into a percussion instrument. Then, proceed to learning the basics of drumming, you may pick up several rhythms usually played by the pro’s, and drum to the beat of a familiar song.

Be sure to let your creativity run wild. By the end of the session, you might even be able to perform a mini drum show!
