About

For a mosque as unique as this, it's a wonder Sultan Ismail Petra Silver Jubilee Mosque has not garnered as much buzz. From afar, the pagoda-like structure might look like a temple, when it is in fact a mosque! Located at Rantau Panjang in Kelantan, it is the first Chinese-style mosque in Malaysia. Combining Chinese and Muslim architectural designs, it resembles the 1,000-year-old Niujie Mosque in Beijing. For this reason, some people coined this the Beijing Mosque. Its interiors also incorporate several Indian and Uzbek features. The main complex is made up of a two-storey building, complete with a main prayer hall, VIP rooms, kindergarten, library, and multipurpose hall.
