Sam Po Kong Temple is a sacred place of workship tucked on the foothills of Bukit Cina, the largest Chinese cemetery outside China. Close by, you can also find the Melaka Warrior Monument and the Hang Li Poh Well in Melaka. Dedicated to Tua Pek Kong, Sam Poh Kong was built in 1795 by the Chinese Kapitans to appease the souls of Chinese traders who made a life in Malaya and died with no family to pray for them. At the back of the temple, there is a statue of Admiral Cheng Ho, as well as heritage gallery that depicts the life of immigrant Chinese and the history of the temple.
